An introspective and delicate meditation for winds.
Duration: 8'
Year of Completion: 2013
Composer's Note:
The sanskrit word ajna refers to the sixth chakra in yogic and tantric traditions. Chakras can be thought of as centers of mystical energy in the human body. The ajna chakra in particular is positioned behind the center of the forehead. It is often called the ‘third eye’ and is associated with intuition, intellect, and clairvoyant abilities.
As practitioner of yoga, I’ve been fascinated by the chakra system’s peculiarities and strangeness. This work comes as an outgrowth of my own meditative practices and is one of my most interior works for large ensemble.
